Stained glass painting courses are an essential part of the Williams & Byrne studio.

We are always busy with designing, painting and restoring stained glass. In other words, there is a sense in which we don't have to teach: we have more than enough work for this year and next. But this is not enough for us.

Why do we do what we do?

Part of the answer is we like making beautiful objects which endure for years.

So how could we not teach others how to paint stained glass? How could we keep secret what we know and do? How could we permit our skills to be forgotten?

In this sense, we must teach.
